Bishop Brenda Bos of Southwest California Synod's Invitation for a Pastoral Care Call

Bishop Brenda Bos of the Southwest California Synod invites all volunteers, family members and youth workers who are impacted by the arrest of former ELCA Youth worker Casey Goslin to a pastoral care call Thursday evening, October 30th, at 7pm.

To access the SWCA Pastoral Care Call, please visit: www.socalsynod.org/calendar.

Bishop Hutterer of Grand Canyon Synod has released a public statement available at www.gcsynod.org/news.

Goslin has been charged with possession of and attempting to produce child sex abuse materials. We join in this nation's legal stance of presumption of innocence until proven guilty and will not engage in speculation of the charges when we meet next week for our care call. We condemn all forms of abuse and pray for all engaged in this story and other forms of suffering.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and this synod are deeply committed to the safety of all people and will not tolerate abuse of any kind. We will review our screening and supervision policies to ensure safety of all people under our care.
