Applications Open for Certificate in Climate Justice and Faith at PLTS

The Center for Climate Justice and Faith at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary is accepting applications to their Certificate in Climate Justice and Faith program. This program is designed for lay leaders and clergy members from around the world who want to be effective advocates for climate justice. Students will grow their faith, practice skills, gain knowledge, and build community to empower them to address the climate crisis.

This two-semester program will begin September 2026 and end May 2027. A 100% online curriculum allows students from around the world to build relationships through bi-monthly small group meetings on Zoom. Since launching in 2021, students from 29 countries and five continents have participated. The full cost of the program is $600. Scholarships of up to $550 are available if needed, please do not let finances prevent you from applying.

You are invited to join Global Refuge President and CEO, Krish O'Mara Vignarajah, for a special benefit reception in Beverly Hills.

During these challenging times for refugees and other immigrants, it's more important than ever that we come together and share our support with those who need it most. We invite you to join us to learn more about the issues facing newcomers, how Global Refuge is responding, and how you can help. 

When: Sunday, May 31, 3pm-5pm
Where: A private estate in Beverly Hills (address will be provided upon RSVP)
What: A gathering of individuals interested in supporting the movement of welcome through Global Refuge
Why: Refugees and other immigrants are facing unprecedented challenges
Who: Hosted by Global Refuge board member, Clarance Smith, and Global Refuge pastor-in-residence, Rev. Eric Shafer

He joins us for a discussion that looks beyond sobriety, sharing his perspective on how to build a life that keeps growing – not just maintaining sobriety. He is author of an award-winning book, Mastering Recovery.

Lutherans Invited to Godmothers of the Disappeared Prayer Vigil

Join Bishop Bos and Lutheran leaders for a special All-Lutheran Prayer Vigil with CLUE and community partners, standing in faith and solidarity for those who have been disappeared by ICE.

📅 Tuesday, April 28, 2026, 12–1 p.m.

📍 Los Angeles Federal Building, 300 N Los Angeles St, Los Angeles, CA

Parking is available across the street from the building, and we gather on the sidewalk in front. The entire vigil lasts about an hour and concludes with prayer. This is a powerful Christian witness for all people.
