All aspects of GRIEVING and the variety of causes of GRIEF will be presented by Mount Cross HEALTH MINISTRY TEAM MEMBER Jennifer Christeson, MSW.  Jennifer has many years of experience providing support in a hospital setting working with families and patients receiving end-of-life care.  Jennifer will then join two experienced parish Health Ministry nurses and a pastor to lead discussion and answer questions.

Session 2 - Palliative and Hospice Care (July 24, 2022)

Is there a difference between Palliative and Hospice Care? If there is, what do I need to know about it? Will knowing help me make better decisions?

Learn the answers through presentations by knowledgeable speakers and an opportunity for answers to your questions. We will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Mount Cross sanctuary for the presentation and then move under the outdoor pavilion for refreshments. Your total time spent at this event will range from an estimated 1 to 1.5 hour based on our first session. There is no cost to attend. Handouts and take away materials will be provided to those in attendance.

If you have questions contact Evonne Kuchera, Mount Cross Health Ministry Nurse, at evonnemk@aol.com or Susan Prosser, Mount Cross CARE TEAM Chair, at prosser1@sbcglobal.net.

Session 3 - Advance Decisions, Directives and Documents (September 11 at 1:00 p.m.)

Have you given adequate thought to important matters that may affect decisions that need to be made upon your death, or if you should become temporarily or permanently incapacitated?

There are ways that you can make many decisions in advance and other ways to share your values, beliefs, and preferences. Knowledgeable presenters will share ways to organize your thinking, aid in decision-making and document decisions and preferences. There will be plenty of time for questions from those attending. All are encouraged to attend and bring a friend.

There is no target age or gender! Refreshments and takeaways provided. If you have questions contact Mount Cross Care Team members Evonne Kuchera, evonnemk@aol.com, or Susan Prosser, prosser1@sbcglobal.net, for more information.
