As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society and the world.

20th Biennial SoCal SWO Convention

Our leaders are Pastor Chamie Delkeskamp (Bible Study leader), Pastor Nikki Felder (Chaplain), and Bishop Guy Erwin (Sunday Worship Leader). Karen Voris will be in attendance representing the Women of the ELCA. We will elect the entire SoCAl SWO leadership team (four officers and seven board members), who will serve a 2-year term. Now is the time to submit nominations! We will also elect delegates to the 11th Triennial Convention, July 14 – 16, 2020 in Phoenix, AZ. A flyer and registration form are included in the July newsletter. See you there!

Women and Justice Social Statement Hearing

Eighteen women and men gathered at the Glendale Lutheran Center on August 25 to study and recommend changes to the DRAFT social statement on Women and Justice. Creating the social statement has been a ten year process, and it will be voted on at the Churchwide Assembly in the summer of 2019. Read more here!
